langgraph deploy now tells the control plane it supports registry usernames
when it asks for a push token, logs in with the returned username (default
oauth2accesstoken), and pushes to repository_url exactly when the response
includes it. LangSmith AWS needs all three, since ECR rejects Google's
username and its repositories are single image names.
## Summary
`deploy listeners list` only prints a human-readable table, which a
deploy automation pipeline can't reliably parse to extract a listener's
id for `--listener-id`.
Adds `--json`, which prints the listeners as a JSON array instead of the
table. An empty workspace prints `[]` rather than the "No listeners
found" sentence, so callers never need to special-case the no-results
path when scripting against it.
## Test plan
- [x] `make format && make lint` clean in `libs/cli`
- [x] `test_deploy_listeners_list_command_json` and
`test_deploy_listeners_list_command_json_no_results` in `test_cli.py`,
mirroring the existing table-output test pair
- [x] Full `libs/cli` suite: 529 passed, no regressions
## Summary
`--push-to` always builds (or retags a local `--image`) and pushes, even
when the image already exists at the destination. That breaks CI/CD
pipelines where the build/push step and the deploy step run in separate
jobs: the deploy job has no local copy of the image to retag, and
`--image` requires one (it runs `docker image inspect`, which needs the
image present in the local Docker daemon).
This adds `--image-uri`, which takes a full image reference already in a
registry and deploys it directly via `source_revision_config.image_uri`,
with no local Docker involvement at all: no inspect, no build, no tag,
no push. It gets the same placement behavior as `--push-to`
(`--listener-id`/`--k8s-namespace`, or auto-selecting the sole listener)
and the same update-in-place semantics, since both produce an
`external_docker` deployment and are interchangeable on the same
deployment.
`--image-uri` requires a digest (`repo@sha256:...`) and rejects
empty/blank input. `--push-to` always resolves to a digest after
pushing; `--image-uri` has no push step to resolve one from, so a
mutable tag (or an unvalidated empty string) could let Kubernetes
silently keep running a previously cached image while the CLI reports
success.
Implementation: `CustomerRegistrySource`'s image-acquisition step is
split into two variants, `BuildAndPush` (the existing
`--push-to`/`--image` flow, unchanged behavior) and `PublishedImage`
(the new flag), so create/update/placement logic stays shared. Also
reworded `_ensure_customer_registry_source`'s error, which previously
mentioned only `--push-to` even though it's reachable from `--image-uri`
too.
## Test plan
- [x] `make format && make lint` clean in `libs/cli`
- [x] Unit tests in `test_deploy_helpers.py` for `_select_source`
selecting `PublishedImage` (by digest, trimmed), requiring no local
Docker, carrying placement, and the mutual-exclusivity + validation
errors (`--push-to`, `--image`, `--tag`, `--remote`, empty/blank input,
missing digest)
- [x] CLI-level tests in `test_deploy_command.py`: create and update an
external deployment via `--image-uri` with zero Docker calls, listener
auto-placement, rejecting a non-external existing deployment (now
mentioning both flags), and the conflicting-flag cases end to end
- [x] Full `libs/cli` suite: 524 passed, no regressions
## Summary
Originally this auto-selected a workspace's sole listener for
self-hosted/hybrid control planes the same way #9056 already does for
Cloud. Per review, that's reverted: in self-hosted environments, leaving
placement blank is the deliberate signal to deploy to the bundled
operator, not an unresolved default. Auto-selecting a sole listener
there would silently take that option away from anyone who has both a
bundled operator and one listener configured, with no way to get it
back.
The actual need behind this was simpler: a way to find a listener's id
without hardcoding it, so it can be passed to `--listener-id`
explicitly. `HostBackendClient.list_listeners()` already existed and is
used internally for placement resolution, but had no CLI surface of its
own.
This adds `langgraph deploy listeners list`, mirroring the existing
`deploy list` / `deploy revisions list` pattern, to look up a
workspace's listeners and their namespaces. No change to default
placement behavior.
## Test plan
- [x] `make format && make lint` clean in `libs/cli`
- [x] `format_listeners_table` unit test in `test_util.py`
- [x] CLI-level tests for `deploy listeners list` (with and without
results) in `test_cli.py`
- [x] Full `libs/cli` suite: 508 passed, no regressions
Follow-up to #8482. `langgraph deploy --push-to` can now create a
deployment in a workspace that
deploys through a listener in the customer's own cluster, which is the
hybrid case. Before this,
creation in such a workspace was impossible from the CLI: the control
plane rejected it and the CLI
told the user to go and create the deployment in the UI first.
## Changes
- Smart Auto-Placement: The CLI now proactively checks your workspace.
If you only have one listener and one Kubernetes namespace configured
(and are using the managed cloud control plane), it automatically routes
your deployment there. No extra flags needed.
- New Disambiguation Flags: If your workspace has multiple listeners or
namespaces, the CLI will ask you to choose. You can now pass
--listener-id and --k8s-namespace to tell it exactly where to deploy.
- Failing Fast: The CLI now validates your listener and namespace
choices before it starts building and pushing the heavy Docker image. If
you provide an invalid ID, it stops immediately instead of wasting your
time and bandwidth.
- Fixed a Duplication Bug: Previously, if you had many deployments with
similar names, a pagination issue could hide your existing deployment
from the CLI, causing it to accidentally create a duplicate. The CLI now
queries the server for the exact deployment name to guarantee this
doesn't happen.
- Cleaner Errors: Error messages from the control plane are now stripped
of their clunky HTTP envelopes so you get clear, readable sentences when
something goes wrong.
## Testing
Deployment on 3 paths, hybrid, self-hosted, nominal
Adds `--image-uri <uri>` to `langgraph deploy` so self-hosted LangSmith
customers can build, push, and deploy in one command without needing to
script the three steps manually.
When `--image-uri` is provided the CLI:
- Builds the image tagged to the provided URI (same Docker build path as
the local build flow)
- Pushes using whatever Docker credentials are already in the
environment (e.g. WIF, `aws ecr get-login-password`) — no auth handling
in the CLI
- PATCHes the deployment with `source_revision_config.image_uri` (no
`revision_source`, which the self-hosted control plane rejects for
`external_docker` deployments)
Also fixes two self-hosted-specific issues uncovered during testing:
- `LANGSMITH_ENDPOINT` is now used as a fallback when
`LANGGRAPH_HOST_URL` isn't set — the CLI strips the `/api/v1` path and
appends `/api-host` to reach the control plane
- The httpx client now builds full URLs via string concatenation rather
than relying on httpx base_url merging, which silently dropped the
`/api-host` path prefix when paths started with `/`
- The "Check status at" URL after a deploy now correctly points to the
self-hosted LangSmith UI instead of `smith.langchain.com`
**How did you verify your code works?**
Tested end-to-end against a self-hosted LangSmith instance using ECR as
the registry. `langgraph deploy --image-uri <ecr-uri>` successfully
built, pushed, and triggered a deployment revision. Confirmed the
existing SaaS flow (`langgraph deploy` without `--image-uri`) is
unaffected — the new flag is opt-in and the `LANGSMITH_ENDPOINT`
fallback only activates when `LANGGRAPH_HOST_URL` is unset and
`LANGSMITH_ENDPOINT` is present.

**Description:** Adds the syntax directive to generated dockerfile for
langgraph builds if we have additional contexts
**Issue:** fixes issue with python monorepo builds failing
**Dependencies:** N/A
**Description**
As part of this PR #6156, local deps are no longer installed in editable
mode. This change reverts that behaviour and ensures local packages are
installed in editable mode.
**Issue:** fixes#6288
We previously errored when a user had prerelease dependencies, this PR
passes the `--prereleases=allow` flag to our `uv pip install` call.
This PR also adds a test to verify that said deployments will build and
run as expected.
This PR introduces the `--build-command` and `--install-command`
arguments to `langgraph build`.
`--install-command` is a custom install command. If passed, it will be
run from wherever the `langgraph build` call was made, i.e. NOT where
the langgraph.json file lives (except if these are the same place). This
will override the detected install command that we previously used.
`--build-command` is a custom build command. This will run from wherever
the langgraph.json file lives, and will be done after the install has
been run.
You don't need to provide both. Just providing one will make the install
(detected or supplied) run in the directory from where `langgraph build
was called` and then have the build command (if one exists) run in the
directory where langgraph.json exists.
I think we should probably allow configuring the directories from which
these commands get run, but I don't think this needs to be part of the
MVP.

* Generate one `--build-context` for each dependency in the `docker build` command.
* Try and fix test

Co-authored-by: Nuno Campos <nuno@langchain.dev>
Using this argument, you can get more customization since you can do
`langgraph build` or directly `docker build` your image and then re-use
the `langgraph up --image my-image` and have it also spin up redis &
postgres for you.
Easier then writing your own compose file
- Now supporting local dependencies in directories that are not contained in the docker context (ie. outside the folder containing langgraph.json)
- This is achieved by passing each parent directorty as an additional context to docker build
- This makes it a lot easier to build projects contained in monorepos where you need to include some sibling/parent folder as a dependency
- Also include additional comments in the generated dockerfile to delimit each section
