An ASM is a change-detection engine, so the service inventory needs a baseline. `is:new` compares (ip, port) against earlier scans of the same target and only fires when a baseline exists — a target's first scan reports zero new services rather than marking everything new, the same contract the host grammar already keeps. Rows carry the evidence as `is_new` (one page-scoped lookup, not a correlated subquery per row), shown as a badge in the row and the detail sheet, with a New quick filter and two counted leads under Change.
