Richard Scarrott e5e37b5d70 fix(langgraph): match whole namespace segments in get_subgraphs (#9615)
Follows up [this review
comment](https://github.com/langchain-ai/langgraph/pull/9614#discussion_r4493053567)
on #9614.

## Summary

`get_subgraphs(namespace=...)` matched node names by string prefix and
reassigned `namespace` inside the loop. It now matches whole segments.

```diff
 for name, node in self.nodes
-  skip unless ns.startswith(name)
+  skip unless ns == name or ns.startswith(name + NS_SEP)
-  ns = ns[len(name) + 1:]   # every later node sees this
-  recurse with ns
+  recurse with ns[len(name) + 1:]
```

`_subgraph_for_namespace` filters with `namespace=` again, and #9614's
workaround comment is gone.

**Behaviour change.** With `namespace=` and `recurse=True`,
`get_subgraphs` and `aget_subgraphs` yield only the subgraph at that
namespace. Take a `research` node whose subgraph has a `review` node,
plus top-level `research_review` and `review` nodes:

| `namespace=` | before | after |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------- |
------------------ |
| `research_review` | `research\|review`, the parent's `review` |
`research_review` |
| `research\|review` | `research\|review`, the parent's `review` |
`research\|review` |

The Agent Server's `GET
/assistants/{id}/subgraphs/{namespace}?recurse=true` is the only other
caller that passes a namespace, and its response changes the same way.

JS `getSubgraphs` has the same prefix match but doesn't reassign, so for
`research_review` it lists `research|review` before the right graph. JS
state reads compare exact names and are unaffected. JS should get the
same fix in a follow-up.

## Evidence

New sync and async tests:

- `test_get_subgraphs_matches_whole_namespace_segments` checks that each
namespace yields only its own graph. It fails on `main`.
- `test_nested_namespace_update_raises_despite_top_level_namesake`
checks that `update_state` on `research|review` raises when `research`
declares no `review`, instead of writing through the parent's `review`.
It fails if only `get_subgraphs` is reverted.

`make format lint test` passes.

## Merge Danger

**Door:** two-way

**Blast Radius:** small. Callers that pass `namespace=` get fewer
results, and each result they lose was at the wrong namespace.

Richard Scarrott 22025bbdbe fix(langgraph): read an undeclared subgraph namespace with the parent graph (#9614)
## Summary

deepagents runs subagents inside its `tools` node, so their checkpoints
live at `tools:<task_id>`, where the parent declares no subgraph.
Reading that namespace raised `Subgraph tools not found`, and the Python
Agent Server returned 400 on `/history?checkpoint_ns=...`. Reads now
fall back to the parent graph, as JS does since
langchain-ai/langgraphjs#2191.

> [!WARNING]
> **This is a tactical fix, and its reads can be wrong without any
error.** The subgraph that wrote the checkpoint isn't declared on the
parent (a tool invoked it), so the parent can't find it and reads the
checkpoint with its own channels and nodes. That works for keys both
graphs share, such as deepagents' `messages`. Beyond those:
>
> - Keys only the subgraph has are missing.
> - `next`, `tasks` and interrupts come from the parent's nodes. For a
paused subgraph they come back empty, unless its node names match the
parent's (as deepagents' `model`/`tools` do).
> - A namespace nested under a declared subgraph, such as
`agent:<id>|tools:<id>`, is read with the root graph, not `agent`.
> - A mistyped namespace returns an empty snapshot and history instead
of an error (200 from the Agent Server, not 400).
>
> JS made the same trade-off in langchain-ai/langgraphjs#2191. A real
fix needs a way to find the graph that wrote the checkpoint, which
neither SDK has.

```diff
 Pregel._subgraph_for_namespace(config, checkpointer, *, for_update=False)
-  first subgraph get_subgraphs(namespace=ns) yields   # prefix match
+  the subgraph whose name equals ns, walking every subgraph
-  else raise "Subgraph {ns} not found"
+  else, from (a)get_state / (a)get_state_history: None, so read with this graph's channels
+  else, from (a)bulk_update_state / (a)update_state: raise "Subgraph {ns} not found"
```

Updates still raise, as in JS: the parent's nodes and channels would
write the wrong state into the subgraph's namespace.

The exact-name walk replaces the `namespace=` filter. That filter
matches by prefix and reassigns `namespace` mid-loop. So with nodes
`research` and `research_review`, `research_review` could resolve to
`research|review`, or miss a declared `research_review` entirely. JS
already compares exact names and doesn't reassign its namespace while
looping, so it needs no change.

## Evidence

- **Before:** `get_state` / `get_state_history` on `tools:<task_id>`
raised `ValueError: Subgraph tools not found`. When `research`'s
subgraph has its own `review` node, `research_review` was read with
`research|review`'s graph, declared or not.
**After:** new sync and async tests in `test_subgraph_persistence.py` /
`test_subgraph_persistence_async.py` pass. They fail on `main`:

  ```text
  parent's tools node invokes subagents["researcher"]   # undeclared
get_state(tools:<id>) -> messages ["research apples", "researcher done"]
    get_state_history(tools:<id>)  -> 3 snapshots, all in tools:<id>
    update_state(tools:<id>)       -> raises "Subgraph tools not found"
nodes research (declared; its subgraph has a review node) +
research_review (declared, or not)
get_state(research:<id>) -> research's subgraph (has `notes`)
get_state(research_review:<id>) -> review's subgraph (has `verdict`), or
the parent (neither)
  ```

The `research_review` declared case also fails if the exact-name check
runs over `get_subgraphs(namespace=...)`. `make format lint test` passes
in `libs/langgraph`.

## Merge Danger

**Door:** two-way

**Blast Radius:** small, but the wrong results are silent (see the
warning above). Only a state read whose `checkpoint_ns` names no
subgraph behaves differently: it returns a snapshot read with the parent
graph instead of raising.
